«أخاف من التكرار والانحدار نحو الموت، أخاف من الشيخوخة فكلما تقدم بالإنسان العمر بقى فى أخبار الماضى» بهذا القلق يمضى الكاتب اللبنانى رشيد الضعيف نحو الكتابة، مطاردا بشبح الاختلاف والتجديد، فيقول: «أحاول ألا تربط كتبى تيمة أدبية ولا موضوع محدد فأنا أريد تحريرها من كل هذه القيود».
